My Actifit Report Card: October 18 2023

Today felt just like Summer. The skies were a deep clear blue with wispy clouds in the distance. The trees were brilliant with color after the rain we had the past few days.

Wow the picture above turned out so well with my iPhone 14 Plus. Look at the beautiful stream of light coming through the trees.

Here are some beautiful fallen cedar leaves in brilliant orange. The dampness on the trees and grass with the late morning sun shining on the leaves and foliage makes the colors richer and the sky very clear.

The beech tree leaf colors are changing to more yellows and oranges from the original purple the leaves use to be.

Wow look at this tree. The leaves are gorgeous.

The flowers are beautiful and still slightly wet bringing out all of its colors.

And here are some mushrooms. I don’t know what kind they are.

These must be maple leaves because the reds are very bright and beautiful.

These trees are cherry blossom trees with there leaves turning yellow and orange. The cherry blossom leaves are so beautiful and will need to check back soon to see their changing colors.

That little red tree must be some kind of maple.

Here are more beautiful red leaves.

And now to the sunflower patch to see how some sunflowers bloom and some sunflowers wilt and fade. Sunflowers to me are so unique with a strong presence and look as if they are in different poses every time I see them.

These 2 sunflowers are very low to the ground like the are hiding and look so cute behind the fence.

Oh wow. This neighborhood is so beautiful today.

This is the old Hoquiam Castle that used to be owned by Robert Lytle built in 1897 and completed in 1900. It was a mansion for Robert Lytle and he became part of the logging industry that boomed during the 1880s. Robert’s brother Joseph had a house next door. Then Robert gave the mansion to his niece Theadosia Bale as a wedding gift. Bale died in the 1950s and the house was empty until 1968. In the 1970s the house was restored to a Bed and Breakfast and operated until 2004. Then a new owner set it up the mansion as a “haunted house” to raise money for children’s activities. I took these pictures myself on my walk.

Have a wonderful rest of the week everyone.
Thanks for visiting my walk. Barb
