December cycling to Strandzha villages

This Sunday with my friends we did a great cycling trip passing through the Black Sea town Kiten, Lozenets and entering the Strandzha villages of Fazanovo and Pismenovo.

The forecasts predicted showers throughout the day, but we still decided to do this cycling.

We started from Kiten - a small town located on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

We continued to Lozenets - a small and cozy fishing village where we bought things for the trip.

We took the road leading to the villages of Velika and Fazanovo and at the fork, we went to Fazanovo.

Around us, the green meadows stood out with their soothing colors and in the distance, we saw the beautiful hills of Strandzha mountain that awaited us.

We soon reached the village Fazanovo, but we did not enter the village and continued on the road to Pismenovo.

A local grandfather warned us that the road was very bad and broken, but we were not worried.

We reached a bridge crossing the Oryashka River, where there is a fork for Popova Skala.

There were many potholes and puddles and so beautiful trees and mosses along the way.

On the way we decided to turn off the road and take a short break at a shelter called "Cold Water".

We continued to the village Pismenovo, located on several Strandzha hills.

In the center of the village, we took a short break visiting the local open-air museum with exclusive exhibits that you will soon be able to see in @myfreshes.

We started to descend by bicycle to Promorsko. Along the way we saw the local Arboretum, which is planted with 125 species of trees and 10 species of shrubs. The place was closed, but will probably be open in the spring and can be visited.

From Primorsko, we reached Kiten, cycling near to the sand dunes. There we loaded the bicycles on the cars and returned to Burgas.

That day we cycled 50 km and despite the rain our day was more than wonderful.
