I started my weekend with a beautiful and peaceful day out on Lynx Creek- just Lulu and the birds and butterflies for company.

The forest was cool and very quiet as we headed up the creek for the hole I’ve been working for the last day. Nice to be out and about in the cool early morning.

Lots of moving dirt and panning in the nearby creek while Lulu wandered around looking for squirrels or other creatures.

It was nice to be alone in the forest to enjoy the Autumn weather. Unfortunately not enough flowing water for my sluice so it was slower work with my pan but the results were great.

Just over a gram of gold from my efforts- not a bad return on my hard physical activity.
After a bit of a snack it was time to head out for a nice late afternoon walk. Gray clouds but no rain today. It was my usual route around the gravel pit and then the back roads loop back to home. Overall not too shabby a walk although my legs were a bit tired from hauling buckets of dirt at the creek. Still I’m happy with my effort today and looking forward to heading back out to the creek for a few hours again tomorrow.
