My Actifit Report Card: October 7th 2023

Parkrun to start the day off on a good footing, and it was one of my best times this year despite me deciding to turn it into an interval session part way through, and walking on 3 sections of the course while my heart rate dropped from 170’s to 140BPM.
Once I was done, I joined the volunteers to help with some barcode scanning, then it was coffee with the parkrun possee before heading for breakfast with herself.

After breakfast we had a couple of errands to run, one of which saw me impulse-buy 5 blue top hats for my stiltwalking students to wear in their fist parade next month.

Once home, we both got our skates on, and today (day3) I was working on gaining speed and using the heel brake. Herself used to skate when she was younger, and is sticking with her quad skates. I’m learning for the first time ever, aged 48 😂
I still need lots more practice, and definitely need to work on getting comfortable with more of a bent knee stance, and skating with legs scissored.

I’m also open to suggestions from anyone who knows what they’re doing on inline skates.

After all that hard work, it was time for me to relax by heading out for a surf. The forecast was for very small waves, and it was accurate enough.

I played in the water for about 45 minutes before heading for home, and nature rewarded me with some lovely hazy sunshine.

Once home, it was a quick shower and change before taking herself out for dinner in a 5 star castle hotel to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and didn’t she look fabulous!

After 5 courses of fabulous food, we waddled out the door, hoping the speed bumps on the road out of the hotel wouldn’t push our stomachs past their limits. Thankfully, we made it home without incident 😁 This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS).
