This time was different!

This time it was better!

Went for a ride with my friends again! But this time it was different…

This time when I went to the store they finally had a road bike instead of a mountain bike to rent, and they rented me the road one. It’s such a different experience…

I was finally able to keep up with my friends and their expensive bikes, it seems that my cardio and leg muscles are not that bad, I outweigh them by around 80lbs and I was capable of keeping up with them. The issue really was the type of bike I was using! Mountain bikes are great for off-road, but really bad for road.

We had this huge 7% grade climb that killed all three of us, even the guy who cycles the most was having issues by the end of it.

It was a lot quicker since we only did 30Km and I was able to keep up. It only took us 1 hour to do. If I get a bike or can rent this one again I might be up to doing a 40+Km ride.

The bike gears worked really well, it only had 2 front gears though, and it basically went from almost no effort to cycle, to extremely heavy, I was only able to use it once.

I was going to ask the store if they wanted to sell me that bike, but when I got to the store a client walked in and started screaming with the owner of the store. I was really confused, I still don’t understand what the hell was happening, I think they sold him something that was 1 kg heavier than he wanted or something…

My friends have started talking about "bikepacking", literally going 1 week somewhere and just riding from hotel to hotel, or campsite to camp site, I think this would be a cool idea, as long as it’s just every once in a while.

I’m not a cyclist, my sport is bodybuilding/powerlifting, that’s what I love doing, pushing heavy weights, but I find cycling at least once a week, extremely good for the heart, body, and soul, and especially good for my bodyfat %.
