8 x 1000m alone at the cross: February 2 2022

Today I was tired and still having heavy legs and load pain from Sunday - Monday. This in combination with having to train alone is not great, so I decided to take it a bit easier and go to the cross at the university to do the series of 1000m. The first at 3’54"/km made me consider to do after two or three but since I ran at about 3’50"/km for the next ones thanks to a strong finish, I decided to do 5-6 anyway… And 1 more and 1 more… In the end I completed the training and did what I needed to do : 8x 1000m at 3’50" or less (except of the first one) so at competition rhythm. 1,5 minutes rest and reaching the average because of the fast endings doesn’t make me confident yet for Sunday, but OK, it’ll be only a test to see where I am at the moment. It’s still loading time. Next week we’ll unload a bit for the 10k cross championship and than the finetuning can start towards 19 or 20.03.
Meanwhile the calendar for a new series of mountain runs with the children have been published :-) we’ll be busy in the next 2,5 months till Eastern!
