I woke up Sunday morning feeling miserable. My throat was sore, my body ached, and all I wanted to do was curl up in bed with a cup of tea. But I had promised myself I wouldn’t miss service, no matter what.
it’s actually weird because i don’t look sick
I slowly got out of bed and began to get ready, trying not to exert myself too much. I took some pain relievers, grabbed a few tissues, and headed out the door.
As I walked into service, I was greeted by the warm smiles of my fellow congregants. I tried to return their enthusiasm, but I’m pretty sure I just ended up looking like a crazy lady. I made my way to a seat near the back, trying not to draw attention to myself.
Throughout the service, I did my best to participate, singing along and following along with the public talk. But I have to admit, there were a few times when I felt like I was going to pass out. Fortunately, someone close to me noticed I was struggling and offered me a chilled bottle of water.
Despite feeling under the weather, I was determined to make the most of my time at service. I prayed, I worshipped, and I even managed to take a few notes during the sermon. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
As I left for service this morning, I felt a sense of accomplishment. I had pushed through my discomfort and made it to service. And you know what? It was exactly what I needed. I’m glad i didn’t miss today’s service.
The weekend is over, a new chapter unfolds tomorrow.
