I took another step in training for my 5K as I tried a Tempo run day today. It was an Outdoor run with two intervals of 8 minutes at 80% of my all out. It was tougher than I thought as gauging my pace is still difficult given the improvements I have achieved over the last couple of months in my fitness. I found myself between Zone 3 and 4 which is not usual but it makes sense this would be part of my training as I want to get a personal best at the race later this month.
My pace seemed like it was all over thr place during the run as I glazed at my watch. However, I focused on the route instead and found myself past a 5K in a good time. The pace of the Tempo seemed realy good for me so I fell that I am on a good track to get that achievement for the race. I also had time in the evening to get a core training session done as well so that was a positive. Everything in time to get a good rest tonight as well.
