There are 20 different types of ducks in Australia, and on our afternoon walk, we saw a whole family of common Pacific Black ducks.
They all waddled across the path right in front of us, heading for this little drainage creek.
I had to move pretty fast to get any sort of photo, and I was quite careful moving along the bank as it is really overgrown. Eventually, I found a bit of an opening and zoomed I a bit with my Samsung s21 camera phone.
In the end, I was very happy that I did not fall in, twist an ankle, or get charged at my angry daddy duck.
I have seen these ducks get quite loud and defensive, flapping their wings when they have babies close by.
Other than that, they are really quite shy, but you definitely don’t want them making a home in your backyard pool because they can leave a mess.
