Yesterday, when I made my goals for today, I forgot it was Superbowl Sunday. So while I went over my stated goals, I actually did pretty well. Usually on Superbowl Sunday, I’m eating all day. Today, I was able to keep it to a sensible lunch and a sensible dinner. I was a little over my limit, but was still in a respectable deficit.
I made some baked chicken wings for the Superbowl party I attended. I recently found out that the secret to crispy baked wings is baking powder. So I added a little of that to the seasoning and it turned out great. They were crispy yet without breading, so they were fairly healthy. Would have been more healthy if I hadn’t dipped them in bleu cheese dressing. 🤣
I ended the day with 11000 steps. The Superbowl was a blowout so I went for a walk later on at night. I had 16 active minutes and 12 flights of stairs which isn’t bad for a rest day.
I took in almost 1900 calories and it might have been a little more because some of the foods were homemade and hard to calculate. According to Fitbit, I burned over 3000 calories today, but I don’t know of I believe that. But I do believe I was in a deficit either way.
Continuing with the theme: Each night I post the song that was playing as I ended the workout and use that as the title for the post for that day.
Today that song was Tonight, Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins. I was prompted to turn on some pimpkins after clicking a snap from @david.dicotomia linking to his entry for #vibes 29, a cover of the Pumpkins song Bullet with Butterfly Wings. It was a good cover. Much better than I could do anyway. So that got me in the mood for more Smashing Pumpkins.
Tonight, Tonight is one of my favorite songs. Not sure I understand everything said in the lyrics, but I like the way it kind of tells a story of lovers facing the adversity of the world and leaning on each other to build hope and make it through. I also love the feverish drum beat at the end. It gets my heart pumping a bit.
Well, let me get this published. Tomorrow’s goals are 10000 steps and 1750 calories. This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS). Check out the original version here on actifit.io
