Hey Actifitters,
Two very distinct parts in our activities yesterday. It started normally with our daily walk with Kaia in the afternoon. Because of the concert planned for the evening, we didn’t have as much time as usual. So we only went to the forest behind the front yard. It didn’t seem to matter for Kaia, she was very excited to enter the 'green zone’.
This forest is small but very cool. Like I mentioned in the past, there’s no trail, it makes it even more fun!
This time, Le Chat followed us deeper in the forest.
She just wanted some sisterly love!
They ran an obstacle course. Very different techniques, but both of them were quite efficient.
When a loud helicopter flew above us, it scared Le Chat.
And it was time to walk back. When short on time, this forest pretty much just behind our yard fence is very convenient!
We added a little distance in the neighborhood. It’s easier to walk a little bit faster along our quiet streets.
Then came the main entertainment part of the day, Deep Purple concert. The venue was an outdoor amphitheater that I hadn’t visited in so many years. With the sunny and still cool for the season weather, it was perfect.
The opening band was Yes. I knew the name but I really didn’t know any songs from them, although I think I did recognize a couple during their set.
This was not exactly my favorite but still a good show. I think only one of them was from the original band. 77 years old and still rocking out!
Bonus during their set: the sunset! Two of my favorite things together: live music and sunset!
They played for a little over an hour, including the encore.
And of course, the main event: Deep Purple! I know my musical culture is really lacking but I actually know very little from them, except of course Smoke on the Water.
But seeing these guys at this age (some of them getting really close to 80) still performing at this level was really great. Of course, the guitarist is much younger, but he’s the only one.
I also won’t go too much in the details. All in all, they played for about an hour and a half, finishing their main set with Smoke on the Water of course, and keeping two covers and one last song for the encore. Another great show in the books!
It’s the second classical rock concert for us this summer and it really makes me want to fill the gaps in my musical culture. Of course, I’m also very lazy, so we’ll see how that goes…
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow. This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS). Check out the original version here on actifit.io
