Ayer fue un día especial para nuestro club Olympus Calistenia, no solo por la fuerza que demostramos al entrenar, sino por el esfuerzo conjunto para cuidar nuestro segundo hogar: la plaza. A pesar de que las autoridades han dejado de lado este espacio, nosotros no lo hemos hecho. Con guantes, bolsas, machetes, palas y mucha voluntad, limpiamos cada rincón que pudimos, devolviéndole algo de su antigua gloria.

La plaza, que ha visto tantas de nuestras victorias y desafíos, merecía ser tratada con respeto y cariño. Me llena de orgullo ver que, a pesar de las ocupaciones diarias, muchos de mis compañeros se hicieron presentes. Trabajadores, estudiantes, padres y madres, todos unidos por un propósito común. Su presencia y contribución con materiales fue invaluable. Por poco contamos con la ayuda de nuestro equipo hermano @fortisw pero por falta de presupuesto no pudieron costear su transporte hacia nuestra plaza, sin embargo pienso que la intención es lo que cuenta.

Yesterday was a special day for our club Olympus Calisthenics, not only because of the strength we demonstrated during training, but also because of our joint effort to take care of our second home: the square. Although the authorities have neglected this space, we have not. With gloves, bags, machetes, shovels, and a lot of willpower, we cleaned every corner we could, restoring some of its former glory.

The square, which has witnessed so many of our victories and challenges, deserved to be treated with respect and affection. It fills me with pride to see that, despite daily commitments, many of my companions made it. Workers, students, parents, and mothers, all united by a common purpose. Their presence and contribution of materials was invaluable. We almost had the help of our brother team @fortisw, but due to a lack of budget, they couldn’t afford their transportation to our square; however, I believe that the intention is what counts.

Al final del día, la satisfacción de ver la plaza más limpia era evidente en cada rostro. Este acto de servicio no solo mejoró el lugar físicamente, sino que también fortaleció nuestros lazos como comunidad. Con esta pequeña acción, sentamos las bases para futuras mejoras, soñando con estructuras nuevas y mejores que nos permitan seguir evolucionando en nuestro deporte. Este es solo el comienzo. Con cada entrenamiento y cada esfuerzo por mantener nuestra plaza, demostramos que la calistenia es más que un deporte; es una forma de vida que nos enseña sobre disciplina, respeto y la importancia de la comunidad. Juntos, haremos que este lugar brille, no solo por su limpieza, sino por el espíritu de quienes lo habitan.

At the end of the day, the satisfaction of seeing the square cleaner was evident on every face. This act of service not only improved the place physically but also strengthened our bonds as a community. With this small action, we laid the groundwork for future improvements, dreaming of new and better structures that will allow us to continue evolving in our sport. This is just the beginning. With each training session and every effort to maintain our square, we demonstrate that calisthenics is more than a sport; it’s a way of life that teaches us about discipline, respect, and the importance of community. Together, we will make this place shine, not just for its cleanliness, but for the spirit of those who inhabit it.
