I played a couple of rounds out at my favorite disc golf course today. I scored a +5 in the first round and a +1 in the second round. I was pretty happy with these scores for the conditions and it felt like my forehand was improving somewhat.
There is less pain in my hip and most of what I’m feeling now seems just to be from exercising a lot. I think an improvement in my throwing form has helped with my performance at least in this regard.
As I was leaving there were a lot of kids playing football on the field near hole one. I was glad I was not trying to play hole one at the time. It looked like they were being coached by some big guys. The coaches had tee shirts on with the saying, “Pain is just weakness leaving your body.”
I thought to myself that it seemed like pain was a way of indicating that you were pushing yourself too hard or you need to take some time off. I guess that might be why I’m not a football player.
I’ve been pushing myself just enough not to get too much pain in the joints or anything. If it hurts past a certain point I make sure to rest up. It seems like diet and supplements can be helpful too in recovering faster from exercise. Muscle pain seems to be a part of working out every day but joint pain is a more serious issue for me.
When I was lifting weights I remember that it was recommended that you took a day off every other day. I like to play disc golf every day and it seems like at this point it does not bother me to do so. I remember when I first started my arm could not do as much exercise but it appears to have grown stronger and I don’t need to throw as hard.
Some flowers that I saw out on the disc golf course today:
