My friend and I played a difficult course in the woods today. I was really struggling at first so my friend suggested we restart and call the first few holes a warm up. I had taken a seven on a par three island hole. At first I wasn’t sure about restarting but then I thought why not? It was a casual round and we were both just out having some fun.
The second time through the first three holes we both did much better. We both birdied the island hole where we had taken a five and a seven the first time through.
My friend did pretty well on the wooded part of the course but struggled a bit in the open field area. The holes there are pretty long for par threes and there are many out of bounds areas marked in the grass that make things more difficult. I managed to play better and not throw out of bounds as much today but I often struggle with this part of the course as well.
It was fun to be out there playing disc golf with my friend but this morning was rather stressful for me. I need to bump up my travel plans and head out to Colorado again the day after tomorrow.
I’m playing with my friend again in the morning. It will be fun to get another round of disc golf in before I have to head out.
One of those disc golf holes that you definitely don’t want to finish too far to the left on:
There are some trees to the right blocking the path to the basket. An overstable disc with a forehand throw works best if your throwing with your right hand.
