I did a lot of yard work pulling out some of the yellow flowers that grow wild around here. I left a few for the bees because they like them. If I don’t pull a few out they tend to really take over the yard and the neighbors don’t like it.

After dinner I went down to the local nine basket course for a couple of practice rounds of disc golf with three discs. As I was about to leave my son showed up with his friend so I played another round with them. We were not keeping score or anything.

I’ve been thinking that I need something just a bit more stable for my main distance driver. I don’t have anything that is just perfect yet after I lost my Sword disc. I’m really happy with the discs that I have been purchasing and I think they will be great for getting the most distance from but, most of them are a bit understable and one is a bit too stable.

As I was thinking about this I saw a disc out in the middle of the park. It had been there for some time and was covered in moisture from the grass. Nobody was around in the park and there was no name on the disc. I tossed it around a couple of times and it seems to be just about the right stablility. It was a premium plastic Champion Katana a speed 13, glide 5, turn -2, and fade 3 distance driver.

It could be close to perfect for a main distance driver. It is a little bit heavy at 172 grams but if I like it a lot I might see if I can find one a bit lighter in a less stable plastic like Star or Pro. I like to have at least two of the main disc I throw.
