The shuttering came off, the posts looked pretty straight and the local mom and pop store sent us a cake to say thank you for helping them double sales of beer and fags.
By lunchtime, the ‘cousins’ had called it a day with only my ramp and some rendering left to complete. What could possibly go wrong?..
Well, nothing! It’s all good. No complaints, no sly bitching and no unfavourable and culturally inappropriate Thai builder rants. This doesn’t make for a funny and interesting post but it is good for the old fella’s peace of mind!
The sun skink was impressed. He moved straight in before the mortar had even set.
I did half-hope it got its feet stuck in the drying concrete cos that would have made for a funny, albeit cruel post, but no, it happily had a wander before disappearing back under a bush.
The builders even asked me how high I wanted the ramp before laying the shuttering. That’s really strange. The usual MO is for builders to just crack on and guess what the client actually wants.
And that’s how we left things on Day 2, which was actually yesterday.
Happy Nathen, happy wife, happy life.
I hope everyone’s having an awesome and peaceful weekend.
