I was anxious for today to come, because of the angst wondering if I would be able to complete this morning’s 10K
The last time Tiffany and I were in this situation, was post COVID where we had reserved spots to run a half marathon which we have done before.
After the COVID ordeal, the investment was made and nothing would stop us anyway lol.
Of course, we weren’t fully recovered enough and I only ran 7 of the 13 plus miles and had to walk the rest of the way catching my breath throughout.
Fast forward to the car accident and before that happened, Tiffa and I have always wanted to run the Ron Jon Cocoa Beach Half and 10K.

We were still tepid about doing half marathons, so we chose to do the 10K and of course the accident happened and getting to today was about finishing it and not so much matching past run times or breaking personal records.
I ran the whole thing and half of the 10K was running on the beach.
My foot is barking and my knee is screaming, but those are injuries I’ve been dealing with for a long time. No biggie.
The most encouraging part of today’s run that the damages from the COVID or the car accident did not rear its ugly head.
Did not schedule a High Intensity Interval Training session tomorrow for obvious reasons, although I hate not beginning the week with a workout, but I’m being a lot more careful and smarter by listening to my body.
Tiffa never runs straight through, but she Runs and Power Walks these events and I’m always proud of her. She never gives up at the HIIT sessions or the running events.
We have a few more running events booked the next few months, but most are 5K’s and I believe one more 10K.
Looking forward to getting better at the HIIT workouts and runs while getting back to matching or beating my personal records.
