It truly was a beautiful and and Sublime Sunday! I had a birthday breakfast with my family (the last in my extended birthday extravaganza which started last Wednesday), and we all took a nice walk because it was a gorgeous day.

After that I took a bike ride out to the lake, and after I returned home I did more garden and leaf clean-up. Here are some of my pictures.

The first few are from the ride out to the lake.

The lake was gorgeous. Only a few boats remain. Most have been pulled from the water in anticipation of the lake beginning to freeze. But we have had an extended autumn, so this weekend was great for boating.

It was quite serene, and even a little melancholy after the busting summer with boats in every slip and many more moored offshore.

I love some of the boat names!

The next few pictures are some brilliant shrubs I passed on the trail near the lake.

On my ride back home, I saw a young buck on the trail! He stood staring at me, which gave me the chance to pull out my phone for some pictures. A cyclist coming the other way kindly stopped as well!

Later, at home, I took a picture of the backyard with the fading light of day in the oak trees.

For my last picture I’ve done an edit in honor of the Sublime Sunday tag. I edited one of the red shrub pictures to make the color even more startling and garish than the original.
