Today, I want to share the photos I took during the pyrotechnic display around the West Kowloon Cultural District on Christmas Eve. I have mentioned before that if you want a good spot, you must go early in the afternoon because people start to occupy the good places from 3:00 onwards. I arrived there around 4:30 after work and was lucky to find a good spot.
I have used my Olympus OMD1 MarkII camera with the lens Olympus 8-25mm f4 pro. I have used a tripod to avoid blurry images. The camera setup for the photos was manual mode, with an aperture of f/8, shutter speed of 3 seconds, and ISO 200. I followed the setup from a website, but it was not good enough because the pictures did not seem so natural.
As you see in the pictures, this location is perfect for photographers because Hong Kong island has beautiful skyscrapers in the background.
This location is entirely new because it opened recently to the public. It is a perfect place for a picnic and a leisure walk, but the only inconvenience is the way to get there because there is no metro station nearby. You have to walk around 25 minutes from the nearest station, or the other option is to take a minibus and get off a few minutes from this park.
Apart from the pyrotechnic display, I saw the tallest and most beautiful Christmas tree in Hong Kong, which was very nicely decorated and lit with colourful lights.
Also, I hit my record of steps for the first time of over 22 thousand; not so often do I have the chance to walk that long. However, I’m still overweight even though I must lose weight according to the doctor’s recommendations.
