My Actifit Report Card: February 5 2025

Sometimes when we are at the peak of our emotional surge, we tend to set lofty goals for ourselves. Perhaps, sometimes that seems like the only available solution to our problems. But huge goals are rarely actionable. And realisation of any goal rests entirely on efforts we put towards it over time. So, while it is good to be able to visualise what we need to achieve long term, it is equally important to break it down in bite size pieces of work.

When I feel lost and hopeless, most often I cannot turn that around as quickly as I desire. But what helps is to take small actions that can evoke opposite emotions. Actions always are stronger than thoughts. So, I might go for a walk in nature. I might go find one of the stray cats in my society and spend time patting it. I might even choose to workout till I’m tired. Overtime as body that gets stronger, mind does as well.

When it seems like there is no air to breath around, it is hard to stay patient and slowly work towards it. This is where mindfulness comes in picture. There is always some air to breath, there is always a way to, may be not turn the tables, but push it in right direction just a bit. I might not be in control of everything, but surely something about myself. No matter how bad the situation seems. We’ll work with that.

Actions always triumph thoughts however small they might be. Good thing is they compound over time.
