Walking the Hahnenkammrennen slope

A bit of rain in the morning, so I stayed in the hotel for a bit. Then went to Sankt Johann (in Tirol) to get a coffee (and cake…) and a takeaway lunch from the supermarket. Back in "Kitz", I shortly prepared to go for a hike. Decided to go up the famous Hahnenkamm mountain via the “Streif” slope. This is the slope on which the yearly World Cup race is organised. Really enjoyed the walk and the views that kept getting better every time you get a bit higher. Here are some of them:

On the top, you can also visit the starting point of the races and enjoy the view of the skiers.

After a very expensive radler, I went the other route back down. It went all fine until a wasp decided to stalk me and then just before the town, the rain came pouring down all of a sudden…

Fortunately there were enough spots to shelter, but the trip could have ended better (and quicker…)

Went out for a nice dinner later, which brought the total step count for the day to almost 34k. Not too bad! This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS). Check out the original version here on actifit.io 12/07/2023 33917 Walking
