The port of the city of Burgas is the largest and the oldest on our Black Sea coast. With its opening in 1903, the real development of the city began. In recent years, the Municipality renovated and renovated all its parts, and this new vision proved to be quite attractive to all.
Burgas also has the oldest harbor lighthouse, which I want to present to you and to which my little friend Cora accompanied me.
The lighthouse is located at the end of the eastern breakwater and was first lit in the late 19th century. So elegant and towering in red and white, until 100 years ago, it was a symbol of the city.
It is very cool that access to this lighthouse is free and anyone can come during the daylight hours and have a look.
From my front side on the side of the dikes in the sea, I was afraid to go up because the sea was quite rough on that side and I photographed the symbol of the city of Burgas.
In this photo you can see what the view is like from the railing on the left…or at least what I was able to photograph with my modest 155cm 😁
Very close by are both the entrance navigation light towers.
