It looks like loan moves are really starting to pay dividents for many Arsenal players, Mari, Tavares and Balogan have been doing really well over the past month and this weekend saw Charlie Patino scored the first goal of his loan spell at Blackpool. Despite his well-taken finish couldn’t prevent the Seasiders from losing 2-1 to Millwall.
The youngster returned to action the previous Wednesday following an ankle injury that had kept him out for four weeks. A worrying sign for gunners fans, because of his similarities to Jack Wilshire, when you start talking ankle injuries it brings up some PTSD.
Patino netted from close range in the 33rd minute at The Den to cancel out Daniel Grimshaw’s own goal, however former Gunners youngster Benik Afobe’s scored the winner leaving Blackpool 19th in the Championship table.

Patino comes from a long line of youth players to break into the Arsenal first team with the likes of Saka, Smith Rowe, Maitland Niles, Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketia all following the same path. Some have already moved on while others are still trying to force their way in, and if Patino can continue to grow I am sure a spot in the midfield is up for grabs as a long term replacement for Xhaka.
