Arsenal has had a miserable disciplinary record under Mikel Arteta and it has started to cost us not only points in the league but a possible chance of silverwear. Mikel knows this is a problem and outlined his plans to combat Arsenal’s poor record. Stating that anyone who fails to adhere to good habits would be “exposed” in training and possibly dropped from the squad.
A rallying cry that looks to have fallen on deaf ears as Gabriel Martinelli was sent off in the last game, becoming the 12th Arsenal player to see red since Mikel took over. Arsenal beat Wolves 1-0 on Thursday night and now have a week’s rest since the Chelsea game is postponed due to their club world cup obligations.
It gives Mikel a week to get his team in order but with such a small squad he doesn’t have many options, any suspensions will seriously impact his options. If any player gets suspended it leaves massive gaps in the squad.

So far Cedric and Tomiyasu are the only ones who are injured while Leno is out with Covid and Martinelli has now been suspended which isn’t too big a deal but with the next few games against Liverpool and Chelsea, we need all the players we can get available.
