Arsenal Announce First Incoming Player In Lino

Arsenal let one left-back go this month in Kolasinac who terminated his contract to move to Marseille. The club already has two left-backs in Tierney and Tavares but has now added a third in the form of Lino from West Brom. The left-back is English but is of Brazilian heritage, and at the tender age of 16 has been playing two years above his age group for West Brom Under-18’s last season. Arsenal is not shy to pick teenagers, with Walcott and Fabregas proof that they are willing to place their faith in the youth.

Lino Sousa turns 17 this year the value of the deal is unknown or where he will be playing. Some say he will go into the Arsenal reserve team other reports claim he could be loaned back to the club to get first-team experience.

West Brom rate Sousa highly despite not giving him a first-team short yet and seeing him as a widely versatile left-back who can also play midfield. He first caught the attention of several Premier League sides due to his fantastic dribbling ability and close control.

In the under 23 squad Arsenal also have two left-backs in Joel Lopez and Henry Jeffcott so if Lino does stay at Arsenal he will have to first outcompete these academy players before he can think of making a play for the first team.
