Gordon church fete and Killara old style houses : October 12 2024

A late night and a slow start. Wake to a grey cold day. Local church has their annual fete today. Walked up there to see

A bit more of an event than the fortnightly Op Shop sale. There was fast food to buy and singing and the church and courtyard was open. Photo of the church spire from the courtyard

Outside view of the stained glass windows also from the courtyard

Walked the church - lots of military connections to Ku-ring Gai Regiment that served in WWI and WWII

Two organs - photo of one set of pipes

We had breakfast in coffee shop and did some shopping.

Weather was not warming up for a ride - went walking instead into Killara. Interesting flower spreading in the garden on the corner of the Pacific Highway

A few camellias still going

Walked on the south side of the street this time - a few old houses here

Well set back from the road and close to Killara Station

Next one down - a bit of fake Tudor and also well set back

Grand sandstone footings on this with a bit of recent fake up top - also set back

Some work going on on this one - next to station car park. Style reminds me of houses in the old suburbs of Johannesburg. Perfect for an apartment conversion

Crossed over the railway line - saw this for sale sign - an apartment sale

Seen this house a few times - thought it was one house. Zoom in one can see a sign saying Flats 2, 3, 4

Walked to driveway for a stepped back house photo

Got the steps done

Dinner: Spatchcock butterflied and cooked on bbq. Peri-peri for me and just salted for the other half. Got to love half priced spatchcock. Served with baked potato and green beans
