A day in Melbourne. Day started out grey. We went walking to find breakfast - not a lot of places in business district on Sunday. Did find a place - location is a bit of an omen
My daughter lives in Melbourne - her name is Katherine. Breakfast took a while but was worth the wait. Lots of grumbles from the tourists about finding a place open
Did some walking to find a supermarket open. Got some photos in of the older buildings - Royal Melbourne Hotel - no longer open
St Augstine’s Church from the same era
New and old - 1878 old
Southern Cross Station - start of one of my bike rides - caught the train from here to Ararat. Shopping done here
Did go out for a bike ride down the Yarra River
Flinders Street station
The city is somewhat bereft of Xmas decorations - this tree in Federation Square was the exception. Sad when woke culture grabs what is basically a solid Christian culture
Looking back to Southbank with all its new buildings - almost all built since I arrived 1999 for the first time
Long ride down the Yarra River - people enjoying a leisurely boat ride
Where space is tight for a path, they use boardwalks
Turning point in Burnley - my first wife’s yay-back-when family name was Gardiner
City view on the way back under a huge gum tree
You decide which is the better perspective for the photo under the gum trees
First bike ride done in a while - all flat did help
Went out for drinks in a local pub - an old city pub - quiet on a Sunday.
Dinner: Cooked Thai chicken red curry - worked well. This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS). Check out the original version here on actifit.io
