Mega Mushrooms in Seven Mile Beach NP : April 2 2022

We have an inspection on our new home down on the South Coast on Sunday. Drove down just before midday and staying with a friend in the same development. Shoalhaven Heads abutts Seven Mile Beach NP. I took the chance to walk there in the late afternoon.

Been a while since I walked here last. The native violets are taking over

Acianthus leaf - no flower spikes

Greenhood rosette. This year the greenhoods will be prolific

Lots of mushrooms of different shapes and sizes

These light ones are hard to photograph as the whiteness grabs all the attention and lens will not focus.

Did find an acianthus budding - too early for ID

Crossed over to the south side - hate the tagging on the new signs

Grey mushroom

This will flatten out like the others

Corysanthes orchid

This acianthus will be the first to open but it has a good two inches more to go to opening

This display of mushrooms ran from a foot off the ground to eight foot

A few different angles against the sky

Zooming in

Nice to be out and not rained on much. Was surprised to see the area was not flooded. The sound of waves crashing on the beach was loud.

Rain came later. Our friend did go to her daughter’s wedding and we had the place to ourselves. Was nice and quiet as the rain kept neighbours indoors. I had planned the menu from home to be self sufficient - just needed heat and pots. Worked well

Red chicken curry. We knew about the green pot as we shopped to find it for our friend.

Served with rice cooked in microwave. Was yum.
