Valborg! 🔥🔥🔥

Valborg, one of my favorite holidays in Sweden 🇸🇪 ㊗️, is held on the last day of April to welcome spring, and is a Viking spring welcoming ceremony that was held before the arrival of Christianity in Scandinavia. Since the arrival of Christianity, it has been replaced by the celebration of Christian saints, but every year when I come to Valborg, I am reminded that the old traditions are still very much alive.😄👏😄👏 Vikings 🔥🔥🔥

We have a bonfire, and a city hall employee lights the wood and lights the fire on cue. Many people gathered around the firewood.

The view is simply breathtaking as the sun goes down the horizon, with the sound of the fire being lit.

Spring has finally arrived in Scandinavia, which is covered in snow for six months of the year, with Valborg 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

わたしがスウェーデン🇸🇪の祝日㊗️の中でとても好きな、Valborgを迎えました。Valborgは４月の最後の日に行われる春を迎える行事で、キリスト教が北欧に来る前から行われていたヴァイキングの春を迎える儀式です。キリスト教が来てからは、キリスト教の聖人を祝う日に置き換えられてしまいまあいたが、それでも昔の伝統を色濃く残しているなぁーと毎年Valborgに来る度に思います。

焚き火を行うのですが、市役所の職員が木をくべて合図と共に着火してくれます。多くの人が薪の回りに人が集まっていました。

着火の合図と共に音をたてながら一挙に日が舞い上がるのを見ると、その景色はただ圧巻です。

１年の半年は雪に覆われる北欧にもValborgと共に、春がやっと来ました🎵
