Hier geht’s zur Deutschen Version

I finally did it!
I started following the Parkrun account on Facebook the other day, and yesterday morning they posted that the run would be on after some weeks of flooding, so I went at short notice.

So glad I did! It was so much fun even that I was aching for the rest of the weekend… 😂

The 5k course goes 3.5 times round the Pocket Park on the flood plain by the river passing the bridge we crossed to get to the start.

I had Mia with me who tried to drag me over said bridge to get home every time we passed it.
She’s never been running before, so she was wondering what this was all about, sniffing seriously restricted and so many people that she couldn’t say ‘hi’ to! 😄

We managed the course in 45 minutes doing a mix of walking and jogging. I was happy with that not having trained for it at all. We didn’t come in last either which was a plus… 😂

… after I tried it myself which was impossible with Mia… 😄

Ich habe es endlich geschafft!
Ich habe neulich angefangen, dem Parkrun-Account auf Facebook zu folgen, und gestern Morgen wurde dort gepostet, dass der Lauf nach wochenlangen Überschwemmungen stattfinden würde, also bin ich kurzfristig hingegangen.

Ich bin so froh, dass ich es getan habe! Es hat so viel Spaß gemacht, aber der Rest des Wochenendes war leider abgesagt. 😂

Die 5-km-Strecke führt 3,5 Mal um den Pocket Park auf der Überschwemmungsebene am Fluss und vorbei an der Brücke, die wir überquert haben, um zum Start zu gelangen.

Ich hatte Mia dabei, die jedes Mal, wenn wir an der Brücke vorbeikamen, versuchte, mich über die besagte zu ziehen, um nach Hause zu kommen.
Sie ist noch nie zuvor gelaufen, also fragte sie sich, was das alles sollte, das Schnüffeln war stark eingeschränkt und sie durfte die vielen Leute nicht begrüßen! 😄

Wir schafften die Strecke in 45 Minuten mit einer Mischung aus Gehen und Joggen. Ich war froh darüber, da ich überhaupt nicht dafür trainiert hatte. Wir sind auch nicht als Letzte ins Ziel gekommen, was ein Pluspunkt war… 😂

Ich habe jemanden gebeten, ein Beweisfoto zu machen

… nachdem ich es selbst versucht hatte, was mit Mia unmöglich war… 😄
