We get excited every time we see a Goanna in our nature reserve. Mainly because they’re rare and they’re big. @consciouscat spotted this younger, smaller one heading up a tree as we were on our regular afternoon stroll.
We were not sure whether he or she was after some birds higher in tree or maybe some eggs. Maybe it was just after some afternoon sun or a place to sleep.
I don’t think it had spotted us but you never know we probably make quite a racket chatting along on our walk or at least one of us does a lot of talking LOL.
I thought the length on this ones tail was massive, maybe the tail grows to full length before it fattens up.
He or she seemed to be slipping a bit as it went up, maybe still learning its tree climbing skills or maybe it was because these trees have lost there bark over the summer season. Anyway it looked like got where it wanted to go.
Just short of the 30k activity count with my morning run, house and yard chores and the afternoon stroll, not sure that is going to be enough in the top poliac league but it is still early days in the season.
