Today I had a wedding gig together with my friend photographer. Just practicing to perfect my skills. I’m not that good yet but my fee is as small as my skills 😂

Anyways todays wedding ceremony will start at 9AM so me and my friend agreed that we would meet up at 3AM at the nearest 7 eleven store. If you have no idea how this work works then basically despite the ceremony happening at 9AM you need to come in early coz you still need to shoot the preparation for the wedding. Like taking pictures of the bride having her make up done including all the bridesmaid and even the groom.

We arrived at the clients house at around 3:30AM and there were already a few people busy at their kitchen cooking for the food that will be served at 12 noon. We went ahead and took photos of the details (like the wedding ring, invitation cards, shoes, and etc) the proceeded to take photos for the preparation.

As a photographer I always want my client to have the best photos for their wedding but sometimes (well most of the time in my little experience) it doesn’t go the way you wanted to. I wanted to have a little photoshoot with the bride, bridesmaid, groom and groomsmen before going to the church like any NORMAL wedding would but alas their preparation took so long that they were done only 30 minutes before the schedule. So there were no more time to take the shoot. Honestly it happens to me all the time… I never get to experience this kind of shoot myself. I did get an experience when I was an apprentice photographer to another photographer friend of mine. I was his second shooter for a couple of weddings and all of his weddings had a pre wedding ceremony shoot. I can’t blame the client though coz I can’t demand that they speed up their make up and getting ready that would be rude. Well that’s what I get when there is no wedding coordinator. Small time weddings typically don’t get that pre-wedding ceremony shoot done.

Anyways we went to the church before 9AM and the wedding ceremony started at exactly 9AM. Everything went smoothly at the wedding ceremony although I still really have some problems with backlit situation especially when the church front door is wide open as the people enter the place 😅. Also luckily for us we were able to roam around freely during the ceremony so I was able to take good photos today. Sometimes this local church is strict to photographers lol

After the wedding my client told me to just go directly to the reception venue coz they will go first to the brides place since they also have a small celebration there maybe an hour or two so they might take long and told us to go ahead to the reception area first. But I had other plans… I went home to get the photos I got to safety (you know just in case, coz we never know). I copied my photos into my computer which lasted almost an hour (too many photos to transfer) After that we went to the reception area (luckily before the bride and groom arrived) We ate our lunch there and in a few minutes the bride and groom arrived. Just in time for us to finish eating our lunch 😁

So the wedding reception program started and honestly I had a blast. Usually it’s already tiring at this point but the host kept my mind alive. He was a very good host with a lot of sense of humor if you get me 🤣 I had a good laugh after laugh after laugh man it was so hilarious. Even the crowed was laughing, smiling and grinning non-stop lol. I had a lot of photos of them just laughing out loud 😂 Even the groom and the bride wasn’t an exception. I just hope they like those photos that shows great happiness during their wedding day.

The program ended at around 2PM which is great coz now I still have time to edit the photos that I took. So this is it for me today guys.
