Today I saw a music video in my YouTube recommended videos with an eye catching title. The song is Please Be a Little Kind by The Bluestars from New Zealand. This is a typical guitar based beat band with a wide variety of moods in their tunes. This one is a bit slow and somber, but I think it’s cool. Check it out!
Source:The soundtrack for the video (which is just a photo of the band) is the group’s first single from 1965. Although the story is typical about a young guy/girl relationship, the plea to please be a little kind is universally relatable.
I listened to a few other songs by The Bluestars and you can definitely hear the influence of The Beatles. Of course many many bands were influenced by them, both in their time, the 60s, and ever since. I found one called Social End Product which is quite a bit more fierce for a 60s tune. This fuzz guitar based song also has interesting lyrics about how a person’s environment affects their social behavior.
Source:today was pretty good! I went out and lifted my barbells and dumbbells this afternoon with my shirt off since it was almost 80 degrees Fahrenheit out there and the sun was shining in a Carolina blue sky. I did the curls and bent rows and arm lifts that I have been doing lately to get ready for summer.
Oh and I did ride my bike for about 10 minutes before that, just to get the heart rate up a bit.
At night I took my typical walk. The distance was a bit short but I found some stairs along the way and climbed 41 stairs.
I ended up with nearly 7K which seems medium low for me, but I didn’t have the phone on me for the bike ride or the weightlifting. So the reality of my activity was higher than the recorded data shows.
So I hope your week is going well. Mine is not bad. I have the GEMs in at #PEPE Game but it needs a bit of testing. Expect to see GEMs in action soon!
And last but not least, please take the title of this post, and The Bluestars song to heart - Please Be a Little Kind!
