I was happy to watch and listen to Rock Lobster by The B-52s today when YouTube recommended it to me. This is truly one of the first post punk new wave songs to come out. The B-52s are a quirky Athens Georgia band featuring male and female vocals, drums, guitar and organ. Their style is manic 60s and surf influenced dance music. You probably know who they are, maybe having heard Love Shack. But this song Rock Lobster goes back to their beginnings.
Let’s Rock! Pump up that actifit activity count right now!
Might as well drop another B-52s song in here. This one is similar to Rock Lobster but a little faster. It is called Private Idaho. I may have mentioned it here before but it’s the song I think of when I think of the B-52s. Great dance tune if you like fast maniac music!
It is #threetunetuesday so might as well make this a #ttt post.
Rock Lobster is from the B-52s first album while Private Idaho is from their second one. Going back to the first album, my favorite song to dance to is 52 Girls. It’s also fast and easy to jump up and down to. Go go go!
today was a night time walk. I did see the fullish moon but it was ow in the sky so it was behind things most of my outing. It was rather warm for a nearly Winter’s eve - 58 degrees. SO just a T Shirt and the light white hoodie sufficed. I also climbed 24 stairs along the way.
I hope you’re all ready for the year end holidays. I’m getting there. Still a few things to do and arrange.
P.S. I found this YouTube Short about how Rock Lobster came to be.
