A 90 Minute Burn Session

Tiffany and I have been working out at Orangetheory Fitness studios for many years. I’m in my eleventh year and Tiffa is right behind me as she approaches ten years. I introduced her to it.
We workout at Orangetheory anywhere between 4 to 6 days a week and it’s been like that for most of the years we have been members.
Everyday the workout templates are different and they include benchmark challenges and signature workouts through the year as well.
Sessions are on average 60 minutes but there are the occasional 90 minute classes and they’ve recently introduced Strength 50 minute and Tread 50 minute classes.
It’s been a while since Tiffa and I signed up for a 90 minute class and we have done many throughout the years but honestly we space them out more often these days. It’s tough enough doing these workouts for 60 minutes added an extra half hour to them is brutal but we do like them so we always squeeze the into our schedule every few months.
The best part of a 90 is that 99.99% of the time I burn over 1000+ calories and I did just that this morning where I burned 1,113 calories and 16 SPLATS!
Oh, did I mention most of the treadmill work was on inclines? Well, yup it was.
A great way to start off a Saturday morning.
Workout Recap Below:
Today’s Workout Recap
Row Block
We completed 600 meters of builds divided into four segments: 150 meters at base/push, 150 meters at push, 150 meters at push/ALL OUT, and 150 meters at ALL OUT. Afterwards, we performed 12 alternating halos with a reverse lunge and 12 squat holds with a bicep curl. We then rinsed and repeated this sequence until we reached the finisher, which lasted 30 seconds of ALL OUT effort.
Floor Block 1 (3 minutes)
We executed a Construct Clean, a shoulder press, and a clean to shoulder press, performing 4 repetitions of each exercise.
Floor Block 2 (3 minutes)
We completed 8 hop overs and 8 decline high planks with alternating toe taps.
Floor Block 3 (3 minutes)
We performed a Construct Sumo Squat, a Frogger, and a Sumo Squat to Frogger, completing 4 repetitions of each exercise.
Floor Block 4 (3 minutes)
We executed 8 power pushups and 8 total torso twists.
Finisher
We wrapped up the floor exercises with a 30-second finisher, choosing either power pushups or hip overs.
Tread Block
We completed a 3-minute treadmill push at inclines of 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%, with 45 seconds of walking recovery between pushes. We then finished with a 30-second ALL OUT sprint.
