i was really trying to get to this shrine somewhere in nihonbashi, inspired by @go-kyo washing money. checked google maps, it was just about an hour and a half from home. perfect! that would be perfect for the nightwalker me. the plan was to go south, pass by ueno towards akihabara, head southeast from there and i will be washing money. i donât think i would be able to do so though, it was night after all and most services donât happen at night. but the shrine was at least open, a 24 hour shrine, i could enjoy the shrine structures and probably find some âgoldâ for #pobphotocontest.
let me take photos of lamp lights while on the way. i just loved how these yellowing bulbs give off those warm enveloping light. it warmed the heart and made everything comfortable. without these lights, this area would totally look creepy. and now it seems that i have a fascination with light posts. oh no! i canât afford to have another fascination. i am already having a hard time with bicycle photos, and now i am about to add in lamp posts?
as i was taking shots after shots of random lamp posts, i felt drizzles. the weather app surely did not mention any possibility of rain that night. too low to be acknowledged in fact. but how come we have this drizzles? with worries in mind, i donât think it is advisable to proceed to nihonbashi tonight, right? i certainly do not want a repeat of one nightwalk when i pushed my way and ended up drenched in the rain. and in winter, getting wet while out in the cold could be devastating.
#aroundtheworld entry for this weekâs challenge. taken in ueno park one winter night.
the plan has changed, instead of going forward, i will be having a u-turn after ueno. yeah⌠not as exciting as the initial plan but this drizzle is relentless, wonât stop at all. now that the plan is made, iâm left with all the photo taking. what else is there to do? no more search for âgoldâ for me, that has ended the moment i changed the plan. at least these fountains looked nice, yellow lights at night really looks good, and white bluish lights for the waters are equally stunning. no wonder people are drawn to this part of the park (unless you are in to some outdoor fetish which i think is also prevalent in this very wide plant filled park).
this lamp post on top of the staircase was extra lovely tonight. just ignore the reflections on my camera, that view was very inviting. it wants me to go up there, although i know what is up there, it canât fool me. the play of light and dark was just perfect, the lights on the leaves and on the stair edges and on the handle bars. and that couple on the side, it was a bit harder to notice. if i could curate this picture, i would have loved the couple to move in the forefront probably on the stairs or near the lamp post. that would give them more details or just have some light just enough for us to see silhouettes.
as an ending shot, i took pictures of the vehicles under the train tracks. having some cyclists would have been better. the drizzles just did enough to have a somewhat wet street, just enough to have a glitter when car lights flashed. from here on, i was hurrying as the drizzles were getting bigger. i just be wet outside. this ended my photowalk and where the actual plain walk started.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
