Bingsu originated in Korea I think and like most things Korean, is very popular over here. I much prefer it to straight ice cream and this is at my favourite place, Sai Noms (with milk). It’s a small local franchise with about thirty outlets around Bangkok mainly but none on Koh Samui so when we’re back up here on a weekend, I like to pop in.
Although we have many of the big food chains on Samui, there isn’t enough business for the smaller chains. Transport to the island is the killer and even the dozens of 7/11s we have down there add a couple of pence, cents, baht to each item to cover the additional costs of stocking their shelves via a ferry.
I also miss Sizzler but that’s just me as of course, we have a huge multitude of restaurants to choose from with it being an international holiday destination.
The Bingsu in an Aircon restaurant was also very welcome as we were tipping 40C today and it’s hard work. I also managed to close on 10 k today which was no mean feat but with 6 cases, it’s been a long and tiring day, finished off by Leeds losing yet again, the less said about that, the better.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I wish you and your loved ones my best wishes.
Stay safe, healthy and happy :-)
