Back to work after Easter: April 11 2023

When I was leaving work at 4:30pm yesterday, my step count was only 2.5k and the sky opened to welcome another pour of rain.

Trust the spring to only show up for a few days!

In my heart I knew I can’t let the weather win. For a moment I considered walking around the supermarket for long enough to add 2.5k to my daily steps, but a part of me rolled eyes on myself, thinking what a ridiculous idea and also how long will I have to be doing this?

So I parked my car at the supermarket’s carpark and decided to wonder around the nearby streets for as long as rain is manageable.

At the weekend Crystal and I looked at my cards. There was nothing exciting nor uplifting to look forward to. No Prince on the white horse nor sudden boost of money out of nowhere. A lot of familiar cards, announcing yet another inner transformation.

In other words - nothing will change until I change and nobody will do it for me. I have myself to count on. As always.

The sky was quite dramatic as I drove back home from up North on Easter morning.

I resisted the urge to capture it for maybe half an hour, but eventually I gave in. I had to photograph this captivating moment.

The clouds were gathering in one area, just about to let all hail loose, like a few hours earlier when I was still at Crystal’s.

And of course it got darker for a moment, then rain followed, but there was also a little bit of sunshine on the other side.

Sure mixture to paint some pretty, double rainbows right in front of my eyes.

I won’t lie - the rainbows made me smile big time. Although life often looks like the second picture - cloudy and scary, none of it lasts forever. Change is the only permanent thing in this life.

So I too, am looking forward to the rainbows, although I know that nobody but myself will paint them for me.

Hence why I went for this little wonder, despite the rain. Hence why I also cooked myself a healthy dinner yesterday.

I can’t lay on my sofa and stuff my mouth with easy, microwave meals and expect to feel and look amazing. Just not how the Universe works.

Little steps towards those rainbows 🌈 They’re not always easy to spot…
