Hey everybody!
I woke up this morning kind of in a stupor. All last night, I kept waking up as I was experiencing a recurring inner thigh cramp that would run from my knee all the way up my thigh. This happens periodically, but it was super intense last night. You can actually watch the muscle tense up and contract, but it doesn’t let go. It might release for literally a second, but then it will go right back into the contraction and it is painful. I know I had well over a half a dozen cramps! It was crazy.
We had our ‘date’ with our neighbor Jan to hike, so off we went at on o’clock. It was gray and had been previously raining, but wasn’t at that time. We were all prepared with gear, so I was hoping for the best. We eventually ascended into a cloud. Things were still relatively dry until we rounded the back side of Buckhorn Ridge. It began with just dripping leaves and then a steady heavy drizzle. I have discovered over the past few rainy hikes, that both pairs of my hiking boots are leading at the seam of the top and the sole of the shoe. Unfortunately, no amount of waterproofing will fix that. I need some new ones. By the time we got home, my left foot was swimming and my right wasn’t too far behind! I was glad to get home.
Can you say 'BIG leaf Maple’? I found this leaf on the trail today. I was surprised by how huge it was. I did bring it home with me and am going to try to press it. I didn’t measure the dimensions, but as you can see by the picture, that is one big leaf! Crazy!
It must have been a day for ‘big’ things, as this mushroom looked like it grew under the moss. It was around 8-9 inches wide.
This is the best underneath shot of that mushroom that I could get. I always like to look at the underneath sides of them.
I made coffees for us and we light a fire in the wood stove. We had worship team practice shortly thereafter, but we needed the break and the fire!
Practice went well and really suck, so we returned home. Did I mention our neighbor Jan is also my back ground singer too? She sings really sweet harmonies!
It’s pushing 76 degrees in the house right now as we were both cold and seemed to need the heat. Thank goodness we have a wood stove! I would fear what our utility bill would be like if we didn’t
LOL!
Soon it’s off to bed for me; it’s been a good day. Hopefully my leg behaves itself tonight!
