My friend and I played a couple of rounds of disc golf this morning at the local nine-basket course. Everything close to the river seems to be having a big issue with mosquitoes right now so we stuck to the easy course.

I ended up winning both rounds but the first round was close at +6 to +8 on the eighteen-hole layout. The second-round scores were a -1 to a +6 on the easier nine-basket course. My friend had a bit of an issue with one of the holes when trying to throw a bit too hard.

I was throwing my new Loft Bohrium disc a lot and went out of bounds long because of it. Usually, I would not throw a fast driver on the 236-foot uphill hole but having a nice new disc makes you want to throw it and I have parked the basket before with it. The throw needs to carry to the right on a backhand and the disc holds an anhyzer very nicely and will glide a long way if you are not careful.

I’m impressed so far with the disc. It is a bit flippy though and I would rate it somewhere around a -2 to -3 turn instead of the -1 they rate it at. In my case, this makes it a bit better for getting max distance out of.

Potato flowers:

These potato plants grew out of the compost pile this year. I have not watered them at all but they seem to be doing fine.
